Professor Laura Avery is a New Orleans attorney with the boutique law firm Kerry Murphy Law whose practice focuses on representing plaintiffs in employment discrimination and wage-related litigation. Prior to joining Kerry Murphy Law, Avery worked for several years as a defense litigation attorney in a variety of practice areas, including labor and employment as well as construction, suretyship, and admiralty and maritime law. She holds a BFA from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts and a JD from Tulane Law School. Prior to law school, Avery worked professionally in the performing arts for approximately ten years and appeared in productions across the United States and in Europe.
