Robert Wiygul is a partner with Waltzer Wiygul & Garside, which has offices in New Orleans and Ocean Springs, Mississippi. Robert graduated from Millsaps College in 1981 and received his law degree from the University of Mississippi in 1984. While at law school he was the Editor in Chief of the Mississippi Law Journal. He clerked for Judge W. Eugene Davis of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and later practiced with the Gordon Arata firm in New Orleans. In 1990 he was the Burlington Northern Fellow in Natural Resources Law at the University of Colorado School of Law. From 1990 to 2001 he was with the non-profit environmental law firm Earthjustice in New Orleans and later as the managing attorney of its Rocky Mountain office in Denver. In 2001 he co-founded Waltzer Wiygul & Garside, which specializes in plaintiffs’ and public interest environmental law. Robert has received a number of awards, including the Sierra Club’s William O. Douglas award for exemplary use of environmental law. He is a member of the Louisiana, Mississippi and Colorado bars and represents individuals and conservation groups in toxics, Clean Water Act, National Environmental Policy Act and other matters.
